The Association Global Management Series
As the world becomes increasingly connected through technology, and as boundaries between nations ceased to serve as boundaries for information, associations have seized opportunities to grow globally, raising revenue in new markets and serving constituents abroad. Before taking these steps, it is crucial for association leaders to gather information about the markets they wish to enter and to understand key components of the globalization process itself.
To assist in that information-gathering process, ASAE Foundation has teamed with MCI Group to examine the operations and strategies of associations operating globally in the Association Global Management Series. Thus far, the series has generated two reports:
- Achieving Global Growth — The first report in the series examines the characteristics and practices of associations that are growing in markets outside of North America.
- Global Growth Strategies — The most recent study looks at the strategies associations use and recommend for exploring and establishing a presence in foreign markets. It also includes an examination of best practices for establishing operations in China.
The Association Global Management Series has benefited from the feedback and insight from an advisory group of association executives representing various association types, industries, professions, and sizes. The series also relies upon the active participation of all interested associations to engage in ongoing dialogue and, of course, participation in ongoing research.
ASAE members are encouraged to join us for these research activities. Look out for notifications and invitations to respond to future surveys and events.
