Committee DescriptionsAMC Accreditation Appeals Committee: This committee hears any appeal made by an AMC accreditation applicant company involving any aspect of the accreditation process. AMC Accreditation Commission: A semi-independent accrediting body that develops the application, drafts program policies, is responsible for reviewing applications and making determinations related to all aspects of the ASAE Accredited AMC designation. ASAE Political Action Committee (APAC): APAC raises and dispenses funds to provide financial support to candidates for federal office who are supportive of ASAE in government affairs issues. View Committee Roster Associations Advance America Committee: The AAA Committee advises ASAE on ways to expand awareness and educate audiences about the value and role of associations in society. The committee administers the Associations Advance America (AAA) Awards program and seeks to increase involvement of associations in resolving societal challenges. Audit Committee: The Audit Committee acts on behalf of the boards of directors and oversees all material aspects of the organization’s financial reporting, internal control, and audit functions. The committee coordinates with other board committees and maintains a strong, positive working relationship with management, external auditors, finance staff, counsel, and other committee advisors. Awards Committee: The Awards Committee administers the ASAE Key Award and Academy of Leaders Award according to policies established by the board of directors and is responsible for promotion of awards and selection of recipients. CAE Appeals Committee: The CAE Appeals Committee hears appeals made by CAE candidates or CAEs involving exam content and administration or the Commission’s interpretation of eligibility, renewal, or credential revocation standards or determinations. CAE Commission: This semi-independent certifying agency of the ASAE is responsible for setting policy and standards related to the Certified Association Executive (CAE) program. CAE Commission members must have earned and maintained the CAE designation. Diversity Committee: The Diversity Committee promotes diversity and inclusion in association management, develops recommendations on how to make ASAE & The Center’s leadership and membership more diverse, and assists allied societies in developing diversity programs. The committee also coordinates the ASAE Diversity Executive Leadership Program (DELP). Ethics Committee: The ASAE & The Center's Ethics Committee serves to create forums where members can examine the ethics of their actions; stimulate the expression of appropriate behaviors for association executives, the associations they represent, their volunteer leaders, and their suppliers; and identify ways that association executives can help members examine their actions in the context of their impact on society. Reviews ASAE & The Center’s Standards of Conduct to identify and recommend appropriate revisions. View Committee Roster Finance Committee: The Finance Committee is responsible for budgeting, financial reporting, contingency planning, investment policy, reserve policy, and financial effect of employee benefits. The committee prepares monthly reports to the Executive Committees and assists other committees and staff, including the Planning Committee. Healthcare Community Committee: This committee brings together senior staff members of healthcare organizations in a community to address the educational, networking, and knowledge needs of these members. The community provides networking opportunities, operates a listserv; recommends educational programs, and disseminates the latest trends affecting management of healthcare organizations. Industry Partner Alliance: The Industry Partner Alliance (IPA) represents the interests of those who provide products and services to associations. The Alliance advises the boards of directors on issues of importance and develops programs and services that increase the value of Industry Partner membership in ASAE & The Center. Key Association Management Company Committee (KAMCC): Facilitates the exchange of information among executives of key association management companies and provides ASAE & The Center with a sounding board on strategic issues regarding association management companies. Key Industry Associations Committee (KIAC): The Key Industry Associations Committee facilitates the exchange of information among executives of key industry associations and reviews the programs and activities of ASAE in terms of meeting the needs of these executives. Key Philanthropic Organizations Committee: The Key Philanthropic Organizations Committee facilitates the exchange of information among executives of key philanthropic organizations and reviews the programs and activities of ASAE in terms of meeting the needs of these executives. Key Professional Associations Committee: The Key Professional Associations Committee facilitates the exchange of information among executives of key professional associations and societies and reviews the programs and activities of ASAE in terms of meeting the needs of these executives. Leadership Committee: The Leadership Committee develops a slate of candidates for board service that exemplifies the professional executive profile articulated in the strategic plan and seeks board members representing the diversity of ASAE’s executive membership, including geography, organization size, gender, and ethnic balance. The committee seeks board members representing a cross section from the three primary membership areas of trade, professional and philanthropic organizations. Public Policy Committee: The Public Policy Committee provides oversight for all matters of ASAE that relate to government, particularly at the federal level. The committee sets priorities on handling issues that uniquely affect associations and association executives and recommends broad policy direction to board of directors. Research Committee: The Research Committee provides insights, guidance and expertise in the formulation and implementation of a multi-year strategic research agenda. The committee works to identify critical issues in the changing nonprofit environment and identifies research opportunities to develop and promote organization success. The committee is focused on enhancing the association profession through contribution of high value content to the industry. This Committee also acts as liaison to ASAE & The Center Boards on research issues. Small Staff Association Committee: The Small Staff Association Committee (SSAC) reviews the total spectrum of ASAE programs and activities and evaluates their appropriateness in meeting the needs of the executive who manages a small staff association (An association of 10 or fewer staff regardless of budget size.). They then develop recommendations and advise the organizations on ways to improve programs for small staff associations.
